Acuity Scheduling has been around since 2006, before being acuired by Squarespace in 2019. Actuity does a fairly good job of user experience both in the administration side of the appointments as well as in the custome facing booking page. They have also hit a niche for themselves in providing their customers the ability to sell recurring service subscriptions. Which is neat. They also have a slew of integrations. One interesting feature of Acuity is their booking bar, which can be fixed to the top or bottom of your website to take bookings. It is unclear how effective this method is, but it is interesting. Notably, Acuity, just like most of Cogsworth competitors did not build their own calendar sync functionality. Instead relying on cronofy.
Interestingly, Acuity also lack some other advanced scheduling functionalities like team scheduling, advanced translation and multi-business tennancy to name a few. Their backend naviation is also quite funky and perhaps over engineered, making it difficult to find things like SMS reminders and other features which should be front and center.
Overall, Acuity does a fine job of scheduling and focusing on recurring paying services.

Gather information about your customers as they are booking with you. Ask the important questions and manage expectations.
Create custom email and SMS notifications and reminders to reduce no-shows.
Add as many staff and resources to your business as you want then set their working hours, breaks and shifts.
Two way sync between your Google or Outlook calendars. This means you can never be double booked when you are busy. And all of your appointments get automatically added to your calendar or that of your staff.
